Sultan's Medal For Egypt, 1801
Order of the Crescent, 3rd class, associated with Sir John Ross (1777-1856). Obverse: Within a ribboned floral wreath as border, the Sultan's monogram. Reverse: Within a similar border the crescent of the moon and an eight-pointed star. With a loop and gold chain instead of a ribbon. It is more likely to have been awarded to Sir John Ross's elder brother, Colonel Andrew Ross (1773-1812) who fought in Egyptian Campaign under Sir Ralph Abercromby.
