Prize medal
Gold medal awarded to Sir John Ross by Ferdinand I of Austria of the type awarded for achievement in the arts and sciences. The obverse depicts the head of Ferdinand I with the legend: "FERDINANDVS.I.D.G.AVSTRIAE.IMPERATOR". The reverse shows the legend: "LITERIS ET ARTIBUS", and the inscription: "Johann Ross" within a laurel wreath.
