Awarded to T. Smith. Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria in a diadem and veil (L) Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX". Reverse: the sphinx on an ornamental platform. Legend: "EGYPT". Exergue: "1882". Bar: "TEL-EL-KEBIR' "SUAKIN 1884" "EL-TEBI". Inscription on edge: "T.SMITH A.B. H.M.S. CARYSFORT.". Suspended from a clasp and blue ribbon with two white stripes. Mounted on navy blue cloth suspended from a bar inscribed "T.Smith" with one other.
