Badge and Star: Order of the Bath, 2nd class (civil)
Badge and Star: Order of the Bath, 2nd class (civil). Order of the Bath awarded to Astronomer Royal, Sir George Bidell Airy (1801-1892). He became a Knight Commander of the Bath on 17th June 1872. Badge: Oval of gold filigree work, consisting of a bandlet bearing the motto: 'TRIA.JUNCTA.IN.UNO'. In centre device of rose, thistle and shamrock issuing from a sceptre and three crowns. The badge is suspended from a crimson ribbon. Star: A silver cross pattee, with a central device of three crowns surrounded by the motto on a red enamel ribbon.
