Badge and star: Order of the Medjidie, 2nd class
Awarded to Admiral Sir Frederick George Denham Bedford (1838-1913). Badge: A cut silver star of seven points, between the arms are seven small crescents and stars. In the centre is the Sultan's cypher on a gold ground; surrounded by a crimson enamelled band with a Turkish inscription. Suspended by a crimson ribbon with two narrow green stripes. Star: Obverse of badge without crescent and star superimposed on a silver plaque.
Awarded by the Sultan of Turkey, probably for Bedford's services in Egypt and the Sudan in 1884.
