Badge and star: Order of the Netherlands lion, 1st class
Awarded to Adm-Fleet Lord Cunningham of Hyndhope. Badge: A white enamelled gold Maltese cross, each of its eight points tipped by a gold ball. Between each limb is the letter "W", the whole is surmounted by a Royal Crown. Obverse: In the centre, a blue medallion bears the inscription: "VIRTUS NOBILITAT" in gold. Reverse: Central blue medallion bears the Lion of the Netherlands. Suspended from a Nassau blue ribbon with an orange stripe near each edge. The ribbon is worn over the right shoulder with the badge resting on the right hip. Star: Silver gilt, of eight main points each of which has a subsidiary point with a etched design on each side. The badge design is superimposed, with chipped silver substituted for white enamel. No crown.
