Mr Henry Hayes in his Doggett coat with arm badge

A three-quarter-length portrait to the left, showing Hayes in his red Doggett coat with the silver badge pinned to his left sleeve; he holds his red cap in his clasped hands. He is standing before an arched window through which can be seen the dome of St Paul's Cathedral. Brown curtains hang on either side of the window with an armchair to the right of Hayes.
Henry Hayes of Deptford won the annual Doggett coat and badge race in 1920.
Framed oil on canvas signed A Rolles 1954 in the bottom left corner.
