Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern 1843

Button. Domed. Rope twist edge. Within a raised circular border on a lined background is a pre-1901 crown above a fouled anchor with the rope tied to the ring at the top, then goes under the right-hand side of the stock, goes over the shank to the left and then under the shank to the right and finishes under the right arm. One button has the shank broken. Commissioned officers.
