Richard Waters Esq. [Billy Waters]

A sketch of Billy Waters, wrongly named Richard.

Billy Waters was born in America and lost his leg when a seaman in the 'Ganymede', sloop, under (later Sir) J. Purves, as a result of falling from her topsail yard. He subsquently became a well-known street performer in London but eventually died in poverty.
