Celestial pocket globe
Celestial pocket globe - case for the terrestrial pocket globe. Spherical case consists of two hinged hemispheres with two hook and eye clasps. It is lined with gores depicting the celestial sphere. Astronomical details on the globe are the same as those of Senex GLB0035 and Price and Senex GLB0013. There is a labelled magnitude table in front of Ursa Major. A total of 22 stars and three star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and two of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. There are two of the southern constellations, as well as those of Plancius and one of Hevelius.
