Celestial pocket globe

Celestial pocket globe - case for the terrestrial pocket globe. Spherical case consists of two hinged hemispheres with two hook and eye clasps. It is lined with gores depicting the celestial sphere. Astronomical details on the celestial globe are the same as those of James Ferguson GLB0057. Stars are represented by different symbols, but a magnitude table is absent. The Milky Way is labelled. A total of six stars and two star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Four of the southern constellations are drawn as well as those of Plancius and all those of Hevelius.
