War service plaque British India Steam Navigation Co. Ltd. On the left side of the plaque is shown the company badge. This depicts Britannia, standing with trident and union shield, facing to viewer's left, behind her, the British lion, proceeding left, a paw on the globe - this is enamelled white, the shield in colour. Below: 'B.I.S.N. Co. LTD.' Inscription: '"CHANDA" WAR SERVICE 1939-1945 THIS SHIP WAS CHARTERED TO H.M. GOVERNMENT AND OPERATED IN ALL THEATRES OF WAR.'
