Watch in silver hunter case with silver watch chain. Thirty hour duration, single train, gilt brass four pillar fusee movement with verge escapement. Flat steel balance with flat spiral balance spring. Pierced and engraved balance cock with engraved grotesque mask. Diamond endstone in steel setting. Tompion style regulator on slide plate with silver regulator disc numbered '5, 10, 15'. Signed on barrel bridge 'Allam & Caithness London 3069'. Slightly convex white enamel dial with Arabic hour numerals and Arabic quarters. Winding hole through dial at 4 o'clock with brass collar. Gold spade and later brass poker minute hand. Silver hunter case with flat pendant and stirrup bow. Cover sprung to reveal open dial. Case back hallmarked 'London 1801-1802' with incuse stamp 'T.G'. (Thomas Gibbard?). Hand written pasted label inside front cover with the words 'Mid. J. Pollard. R.N. HMS Victory shot the Swiss sharpshooter at 1-30. The Swiss was the man who killed Lord Nelson at 1-20. 1805'.

Engraved on front cover with the words 'Presented to Mid. J.Pollard R.N. H.M.S. Victory by E.L.H. & T.M.H. Jan.9th. 1806 for service rendered during Trafalgar action Oct. 21st at 1-30'. Triple strand silver belcher link chain with steel key and nickel fob set with an uncut circular banded agate. The inscription is thought to be dubious. Pollard is said to have killed the sharpshooter who shot Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The chain is marked JEW0253.1.
