Inner boots
Pair of inner boots with drawstring at the top that belonged to Captain F. L. McClintock (1817-1907). They are made of skin (possibly caribou), the foot made of a single piece stitched along the top and heel. This is cut with slits above the foot to take a drawstring cut from a strip of skin. The ankle is covered by a piece of skin sewn to the foot part. The top part of the boot legs are made of cotton ticken with a cord drawstring passing through button hole-edged eyelets. An old tie label reads: 'Moccasins with tops for extreme cold.'
