Snow shoe

Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Green painted snow shoe made of a flat piece of wood with an indentation for the heel. A strap and buckle attachment is secured to the front by brass loops. A leather part closed by brass hooks and eyes goes over the wearer's foot.
