Medal commemorating William of Orange appointed Captain-General and Admiral, 1672. Obverse: Bust of King William III in a wig (right). Legend: 'GVILH: II. AVR: PRINC: COM: NAS'. Reverse: A female figure representing the Republic seated on a lion with shields at her feet, her right resting on an altar, her left arm holding a goblet. Legend: 'SALVS POPVLORVM'. Exergue: 'CONCORD[IA]'. This medal represents the agreement of the various states to appoint William as their sole leader, Captain-General and Admiral, 1671.
