A metal ladle for the cooking apparatus made for the British Arctic Expedition, 1875-76, led by Captain George Nares. The ladle is made up of a circular bowl with folded edge, and a curved narrow metal handle riveted to it. There is a hole in the end of the handle.This is one of a number made for the 6 pint and 9 pint versions of the cooking apparatus taken on the sledging expeditions.
