Reverse: The French fleet before the English off the coast of Scotland. Legend: 'FVGERE . NON . FALLERE . TRIVMPHVS.' (To escape, not to deceive is a triumph). Exergue: 'GALLORVM . CONATVS . IN . SCOTIAM . ANNAE M . VIGILANTIA . ELVSI. CIC IC CCIIX.' (The attempts of the French upon Scotland have been frustrated by the vigilance of the Great Anne, 1708.)
