Medal commemorating Captain Henrik Gerner. Obverse: Bust of Captain Gerner in a full tie-wig open uniform, coat and lace cravat (right). Legend: 'HENRIK GERNER FABRIK MESTER.' (Henrik Gerner, Master of Manufactory). Below: 'FÖD . 5 . IULI . 1741 . DÖD . 27 . DEC . 1787.' (Born 5 July 1741, died 27 December 1787.) Reverse: Archimedes standing before an antique galley. Legend: 'VOR ARKIMEDES TIL AERE.' (In honour of our Archimedes.) Exergue: 'AF DE KONGEL . DANSKE SÖE OFFICERER.' (From the Royal Danish Naval Officers.) Captain Gerner was a distinguished naval architect.
