Reverse: The king, seated in the stern of an antique galley (right), a trident in his left hand, presenting this medal to a sailor. Legend: 'VIRTUTI . NAUTICAE . PRAEMIA DATA.' (Reward given for naval valour). Exergue: 'M . DC . XCIII.'
