Medal affirming Charles's claims to dominion of the sea. Obverse: Bust of King Charles II in along wig, laureate, in ornamental armour and mantle (left). Legend: 'CAROLVS . II . D . G : M : BR : FR : ET . H : REX.' Reverse: Starboard-quarter view of a battleship under topsails and mizzen. Legend: 'NOS . PENES . IMPERIVM.' (The empire is with us.) Supposed to have been struck after the battle of 3 June 1665.
