Over shoes
Used on Nares' Arctic expedition 1875. Belonged to Lieutenant A A C Parr, HMS "Alert". Pair of leather and chamois overshoes. Hand sewn. Leather soles and sides, chamois uppers covering the ankles. One tie remains to secure a leather strap across the instep. Marked "Lieut Parr" in ink. Tie missing from one shoe.
