Nicholas Pocock

Etched and line-engraved copper plate for the engraving of Nicholas Pocock after the oil portrait by his son Isaac, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1811. See PAD3321 for the print and further details. This plate was on loan to the Museum for some years from Mr Patrick Bryan, a Pocock descendant - who, when he still held it in the mid-1970s also had a small stock of original impressions from it - until presented by him with two illustrated logbooks of Lieutenant William Innes Pocock, one Nicholas's younger sons, in 2007.
