Political Astronomy

In this hand-coloured satirical image, which shows a general ignorance of astronomy, British political figures are presented as stars surrounding the Treasury as the sun at the centre. The figures depicted include Charles James Fox (Foxonin Star), Henry Addington, William Pitt (who also orbits another star, Georgium Sidus, representing George III), George Canning, William Windham (the Windhamerian Star, but described as both a planet and a comet) and Henry Dundas.
