Medal commemorating Admiral of the Fleet Richard Howe (1726-1799) and the Battle of the Glorious First of June, 1794. Obverse: Bust of the Admiral (left), hair tied with ribbon, full uniform, cloak over right shoulder. Legend: 'EARL HOWE ADMIRAL OF THE FLEET.' Exergue: 'MDCCXCIX.' Reverse: A naval column, surmounted by Victory and surrounded by naval trophies. It stands on a plinth inscribed 'MEMORAE . VICTORY JUN 1ST . MDCCXCIV.' Exergue: 'FRENCH FLEET DEFEATD . VII SHIPS TAKEN.'
