Counter commemorating the dominion of the sea. Obverse: Bust of Charles I (right), head bare, in ruff, armour, mantle and ribbon for medal. Legend: 'CAROLVS . D : G . ANG . SCO . FRAN . ET . HIB . REX . FIDEI . DEFENSOR.' Reverse: A ship sailing left, before a fair wind with topsails and courses set on force and main masts, the latter flying a flag on a tall spar. Lanteen sails furled on two small mizen masts. Seashore with fort (right). Legend: 'NEC . META . MIHI . QVAE . TERMINVS . ORBI' (Nor is that a limit to me, which is a boundary to the world).
