Dundee penny token commemorating Admiral of the Fleet, Adam Duncan (1731-1804) and the Battle of Camperdown, 1797. Obverse: Bust of Admiral Duncan face (front) in uniform (three-quarter right). Above head: 'DUNDEE PENNY'. Legend: 'ADML LD. DUNCAN BORN HERE 1731. DEFEATD. THE DUTCH FLEET 1797.' Reverse: Under the tree of life, the serpent coiled round it, Adam seated (right) and Eve standing (left), offering him the apple. Legend: '23000 INHABITANTS IN DUNDEE VID. STATISTICAL ACCOUNT BY R.
