Mittens

Pair of mittens. Used on the Australasian Antarctic Expedition 1911-14. Constructed from a pale yellow coloured sheepskin. Black thread has been used for the stitching, apparently by machine. The seam attaching the thumb is reinforced with a brown narrow strip of leather.
