Obverse: A woman (L), standing on a rocky shore looking over a turbulent sea and dressed in the classical style, beckons to a sailing ship moving away from her under topsails, her left hand rests on an anchor with cable attached. Legend: "HEARTS OF OAK BENEFIT SOCIETY". Exergue: "ESTABLISHED 1842". Reverse: an oak wreath secured at the bottom by a knot surrounds the Inscription: "PRESENTED TO---- AS A TOKEN OF RESPECT FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE SOCIETY".
