Obverse: Similar to MED0546 but a different design. Legend: 'VICTORIA D : G : BRITANNIARUM REGINA . F. D.' Reverse: Within an oak wreath tied with a ribbon, a flower below. Inscription: 'PRESENTED BY THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT'. Legend: 'FOR GALLANTRY AND HUMANITY'. Inscription on edge: 'C GROTEAU 1873'. Fitted with a cusped bar and crimson ribbon.
