Reverse: An oval shield with inscription having as supporters a male figure with lion (Courage) (left) and a female figure with child (Humanity) (right) both holding a wreath overhead and standing on scrolled pedestals. Inscription: 'MINISTERE DE L'INTERIEUR ACTES DE DEVOUEMENT. MONNET JOSEPH 1876-1888'. Fitted with a garland ring and tricolour ribbon.
