Reverse: Three men standing on deck, an officer (C) a sailor firing a gun (L) another armed with a rifle (R); ships in distance. Exergue: "SANTIAGO DE CUBA JULY 3". Inscription on edge: "RUDOLPH F. THIEMKE, F.2D.C." Fitted with a ring a ribbon of equal stripes of red, blue, red, suspended from brooch pin inscribed with the name of a ship. Inscription: "U.S.S. HARVARD".
