Uniface cross pattee wth a medallion in the centre bearing an anchor within a wreath of oak and laurel. Legend Obverse: "U.S.NAVAL CAMPAIGN WEST INDIES". Inscription on arms: "SPECIALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE 1898". Reverse: Uninscribed. Specimen. Fitted with a ring and watered silk red ribbon.
