Unidentified girl

Bust length silhouette of a young girl in right profile, with short hair and wearing a pearl or bead necklace. It is in an oval gilt metal surround set in a rectangular black-lacquered papier mache backing board, with a suspension ring on a brass acorn hanger. There is a printed inscription on the reverse reading 'Modern Style of ...Likeness' with the pencil addition 'unknown girl'. It is in a classic 'acorn' silhouette frame but the image itself is worked, not just a solid black outline, which may be the 'modern' style referred to on the back.
