Black glass artificial horizon
A rectangular black-lacquered brass case on three levelling feet covered with a black glass mirror. The artificial horizon is contained in a rectangular fitted wooden box, with a spirit level. A second spirit level, to be placed at a right angle with the first is missing. The lid of the box contains a Kew Observatory certificate of examination dated September 1893.
