Boat's compass

Boat's compass slung in brass gimbals, the whole contained in a wooden box. The compass card is unusual, being made of mother-of-pearl, the northern half of which is painted black. The north point is indicated by a Harp & Star.

Graduated to 32 points.
Fitted with a locking device.
