A plastic instrument designed to find longitude, or latitude at noon.
It consists of a rectangular base-plate marked with the months of the year. A revolving semi-circular plate is attached to the base plate by a brass pin with a knurled clamping knob. It has scales for degrees, hours and minuts. Fixed on top of this is a swivelling sighting arm with cross piece.
Instructions for use are printed on the back of the base plate
