Abney's Level

Sighting tube-A square sectioned sighting tube 4.75 x 0.6 x 0.6" (12.1 x 1.5 x 1.5cm) with a slot in its upper side fitted with an internal prism.
Level-A brass plate carrying an arc, graduated 60-0-60, 0-10 and a spirit level in an anodized brass tube 1.6" (4cm) long, pivoted at centre of arc and turned by a wheel 1.25" (3.2cm) dia, and carying an index bar 1" (2.5cm) long with a vernier scale at end, graduated 60-0-60. Is mounted on side of tube adjacent to slit.
In leather case lined with blue silk and velvet.
