Spyglass telescope

This small Galilean telescope has a dyed rayskin barrel and a single draw tube of red leather. The other fittings are made of silver. The maker's name is stamped onto the draw tube as 'WATKINS LONDON'.

Spy glass telescopes like this were made as personal accessories to fit in the pocket.
