Plate
An earthenware plate, transfer-printed in black with a view of HMS 'Euryalus' in which Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh (1844-1900) sailed in 1861. The ship's name is inscribed on a pennant.The transfer is hand-coloured in green, yellow, red and blue and the plate has a hand-painted line in orange lustre around the rim and narrow green line around the centre. The maker's mark is impressed on the base.
