Cutlass scabbard
The brown leather scabbard has a brass locket, a frog hook and chape. Inside the throat of the scabbard are two flat springs, which retain the blade in the scabbard by pressing on each side of the cutlass. The reverse of the scabbard is stamped with the letters 'N' and 'W', a crown motif with the letter 'E' above it and the number '1' below. The obverse of the locket is stamped with the number '3'.
