Greek ensign (1828-1970)

The ensign of Greece, 1828-70 pattern. It is made of synthetic fibre bunting, the hoist is a linen and cotton blend and the flag is machine sewn. Design: nine horizontal blue and white stripes. In canton, a white cross on a blue background. A rope and aluminium two clips are attached for hoist the ensign. This design was used as a merchant and naval ensign between 1828 and 1970 and is similar to the present national flag of Greece adopted in 1978.
