Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and gadrooned sides green, the lid white with a border of green triangles and red spots with a transferred inscription: 'WHEN / Nelson knew the / Battle won He said to fate / GODS will be done'.
