Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The base and sides are bordered blue with white spots, with a painted picture depicting the dying Nelson supported by a figure wearing cocked hat, standing on the deck of 'Victory'. A line of eight ships is shown in the background. On an inner white border the inscription: 'Off Trafalgar the battle was Fought Nelson's life the victory bought.'
