Launching casket
Launching casket HMS 'Nelson' 1876. A wooden box decorated with light wood inlay and lined inside the lid with ruched blue silk. It contains an elaborately decorated boxwood mallet carved with a naval crown, anchor, coat of arms, Egyptian style decoration and flowers. The mallet head was reinforced with brass bands now loose. The mallet is inscribed: 'HMS Nelson 4th Novr. 1876.'
