Glass and ivory picture depicting the battle of the Nile, 1798. The battle is painted on ivory and on the reverse of the domed glass cover, a dismasted French ship is shown in the centre of the composition. On the stern of the right hand ship 'CULLODEN. In the sky 'LORD NELSON'S VICTORY'. In a circular, soapstone frame with a suspension ring.
