Submarine cable section
Submarine cable. Cylindrical with two metal bands at either end. The core consists of seven wires with ten iron wires of sheathing individually covered with hemp soaked in tar, india rubber and pitch. The outer sheathing consists of thirty-six wires grouped in threes.
