Portrait plaque

Portrait plaque depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). An ivory carving of Nelson, head and shoulders, in uniform but without a hat. Facing to the front, in an oval black, turned wooden frame, glazed with a suspension ring. On a label: 'Ivory contemporary miniature of Admiral Lord Nelson, given to me by E.S. Xmas 1927. Commander A.G. Fawsett D.S.O. R.N. This ivory was examined and passed as contemporary by Miss Walker of New Bond Street.'
