Slice of electric cable in a glazed wooden case. Plaque 'The First concentric Cable and First Paper Cable. Designed and made by S.Z. de Ferranti in 1890 for 6 1/2 miles service at 11000 volts from Deptford to London. Dismantled 1933.'
