Patch box lid
Oval, enamelled (polychrome) patch box lid commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). It depicts a half length portrait of Nelson without a hat, facing 3/4 left with ships behind. The portrait is in colour on a white background and inscribed above the figureis: 'ADML NELSON'. The lid is mounted in a turned black wooden frame with a suspension ring.
